PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 2010 - Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP), the organization of Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising practitioners, announced the first TANAW Awards for OOH media.
Tanaw means to "see" or "view", apt for OOH ads which are meant to catch the eye of the target audience. The TANAW Awards will be given every two years starting 2010. It is expected to generate a greater awareness of OOH advertising and to encourage industry practitioners such as advertisers, advertising agencies, modeling agencies to join and be recognized. The awards are open to both OAAP members and non-members.
The two categories are Technical Awards and People’s Choice Awards. Technical Awards are Best in Lighting – Tanaw Liwanag, Best in Structural Construction – Tanaw Astig, Best in Printing – Tanaw Linaw, and Best in Innovation – Kakaibang Tanaw. Judging for Technical Awards will be done by OAAP members, lighting suppliers, structural engineers, printers and the MSAP.
The People's Choice Awards will be given in Favorite Billboard-Paboritong Billboard, People’s Choice Star Female TANAW Model and People’s Choice Star Male TANAW Model. Judging for People’s Choice Awards will be through text votes and by OAAP Members.
All displays activations and launches in the Philippines from January 1, 2010 to October 31, 2010 can be submitted as entries. Deadline of submission is on October 30. The awards night will coincide with the 2nd Philippine International Conference and Tradeshow on OOH Media on November 20, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center.
