INQUIRER.net ad bags top prize in communicator awards



MANILA, Philippines – "Anong Balita?" a video commercial created for INQUIRER.net has received the "Award of Excellence," the highest award in the Newspaper/Publication Category during the 16th Annual Communicator Awards show.

The International Academy of Visual Arts announced the winners in New York.

The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

The INQUIRER.net ad was produced by Head of the Dog Pictures, a Filipino American creative shop based in San Francisco, California. It was founded in 2008 by cinematographer, Peggy Peralta.

The Communicator Awards are judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), an organization of over 550 leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.

Current IAVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, HBO, Keller Crescent, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Tribal DDB, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, Yahoo!, and many others. Last year, "Anong Balita" commercial also won a Platinum in the webmercial category at the Ava Awards, given by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) which recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, direction, shooting, and editing of audio-visual materials, and programs.
