Paper Planners - Do You Still Use Them?

One thing that is really important for the yuppie of today is the need to manage one's time. In this respect, an entire industry has been created in order to cater to the yuppie's need for time management tools and organization material that actually help. From the beautiful free planners given away by the different companies at the start of the year, to the funky, creative designs made by Philippine paper company Stradmore in their planner hit BlogBerry, and even the affordable bookstore planners that you can have for around Php 25 apiece (at Philippine Christian Book Store/PCBS), there is no reason why a young professional, would run out of personal management tools. But the question here is, in this age of the iPhone, the Blackberry, the Android phone, the iPod touch and even the basic Nokia phone with the to-do list, would you actually be able to maximize the use of your paper planners?

The right way to answer that question would be to ask a couple more questions:

  • Do you find yourself needing something that's not digital to write your schedules on?
  • Do you get frustrated when your phone runs out of batt and your to-do's and schedules are stuck there?
  • Do you actually find yourself writing your schedules on paper?

If you said "YES" to those three questions, then you're one of those people who would still be able to benefit from a planner like the BlogBerry line of planners.

Remember to maximize your planners. If you're not sure that you would be able to make the most out of it, or, if you've bought one in the past but have ended up hardly using it, then take note of these tips:

  • If you would like to see first if a planner will work for you this time around, buy one from the cheaper selections first. Try the ones that are Php 150 or less.
  • If you don't like using the cheaper selections because the design isn't what you prefer, then try looking for an undated planner. Yeah Notebooks has a style like this: only the days of the week are labeled, and there are no dates to confine you. This way, you'll be free to use as many or as little of the planner's pages as you actually need.

Now you can go and get yourself a planner and be a lot more organized! Take note that the BlogBerry planner has coupons at the back. So if these stores are available in your area, make use of them and save!
