UM Philippines Bags SMDC Account Anew

Universal McCann does it again.

Winning a pitch against MediaEdge and Havas Media MPG to secure being SM Development Corporation's media agency-of-record, UM Philippines extends its contract with SMDC for another year. Prior to the February 27, 2012 milestone, Universal McCann also handled SMDC's media and advertising needs.

To illustrate how major the SMDC win is, SMDC has 14 rising residential projects situated in key locations across the metro, in crucial, high-traffic areas such as SM Malls, schools and business districts. SMDC is among the industry's biggest out-of-home advertisers.

Universal McCann is in charge of the media needs of the SM Mall of Asia and SM Investment Corporation accounts. Other SM subsidiaries will still be handled by the media agencies they are working with. SM Supermalls is handled by Mediacom, while SM Retail is handled by OMD, respectively.

UM Philippines' victory was confirmed by Rudy B. Villar, Jr., SM Investments Corporation' Senior AVP for corporate marketing communications on March 2, 2012.
