Advertisers, Major TV Networks sign as co-broadcasters of the 65th Miss Universe

Philippines’ major TV networks, signed as co-broadcasters of the 65th Miss Universe.

Just recently, ABS-CBN and Solar Entertainment signed a contract that allows the Kapamilya network to air the international pageant live.

This is a big deal for TV networks because, for decades, Miss Universe has been the Super Bowl counterpart in the Philippines. The world stops and the country turns into a pageant stage every time the most beautiful day in the universe arrives. The fad even more intensified when Pia Wurtzbach snagged the most coveted crown last year.

This fascination of Filipinos on beauty pageants got the attention of advertisers. Just like Super Bowl, Miss Universe is one of the most compelling spaces for advertisers. Companies spend so much just to get a commercial spot during the TV event. They go all out, pulling stunts to successfully associate their brand to the big international pageant. Also, obviously, the Miss Universe spot has a broad reach which makes it stands out as a marketing platform.

So what brands will earn a spot in next year's biggest event? See it yourself on January 30.
